Concerning Pregnancy Tests

What are your thoughts on conducting pregnancy tests before marriage? Is there sense in refusing to wed pregnant brides? What is the proper Christian response to people that get pregnant outside of wedlock? Someone said something about the church trying to avoid joining more than one person, hence the pregnancy test. But the church will support such people going to court or going the traditional way... I asked him if they check for ladies that recently had an abortion too. I also asked if the church would wed the couple AFTER the lady has put to bed. I'm still waiting for his response, lol.
